houses. And a walk in the park it is not.
We’ve seen a half a dozen in Spokane Valley and a half a dozen in Coeur d’Alene, and we have one in each area that could possibly be a canidate. Both would be around $210k <---- yes, that figure is correct. House payament? Oh...in the neighborhood of $1600 a month, which is just a hair under doulbe what we are paying now. Which is why we are having problems committing.
The possible advantage of living in Spokane is the lack of a state income tax. However, sales tax is higher (8.2% vs. 5.2%) and gas is 20 cents a gallon more in Spokane. Mandy's doctor and chiropractor are both in Spokane, but her family is all in CDA (except her Mom in Post Falls), plus in the summer she has softball 2x a week, without practices. But, we both love the Valley and that was where we made our first home together.
So...shit. I don't know.
I do know that I am off to go white water rafting again. It will be nice to take my mind off things (yeah, right, like that will happen). I have some catching up to do as we were in Montana over the previous weekend and managed to visit the Montana Watch Company as well, which was way cool. I’ll have that post up soon.

I came here by way of PMWF. I must say 1600 is DIRT cheap for where we live. You could easily get a adjustable and pay for a interest cap. It just depends on you and what flavor loan you want. But I have to say I would be happy with 1600 a month, my rent is about 5$ less. Besides you will not have MUCH bigger tax writeoffs now. It just depends on what you want to do. I’m surpised that it is that the mortgage is that much. My rule of thumb is $7 per 100 borrowed (which is about 10% interest), unless you’re adding in the tax and any other fees associated with the house. Anyways good luck

ohh lots of type in that message…
$7 per thousand not hundred….
You interest writeoff is similar to a 15% increase in pay (put you still pay out…)
Anyways good luck
