Looking back: here’s what I read in 2011
One of my goals for 2011 was to read more. I used to read like crazy when I was in my teens and early twenties, but as I grew older time just seemed to be better spent elsewhere than with a book. I wanted to change that this year and just “read more”. Read more than what? I had no set goal here, thinking more than the three or four books I have gotten through in past years.
I knew that with a job and family and exercise and sleep and etc. I would have to make time to read if I wanted to get through more books. Two things did help with that: in February we canceled our cable and went with Netflix and Hulu Plus for our TV needs. With that move I cut way back on what I was watching which was rewarding in more ways than one. The second was being laid off in mid-November. I read three and a half books between the time I was laid off and the end of the year.
In all I read 12 books and 2 short stories this year; I read these on my 2nd generation Kindle and later on my Kindle Fire. In order, here are the books I read in 2011:
