| The Story Behind This Watch |
I must have looked at 100 watches on our Carribean cruise we took the first week of March in 2006. Dozens of brands, all sorts of price ranges, materials, functions, movements, etc. and I could not decide on one watch to buy. Mainly because I felt the discounts were nothing special, but also because I just didn’t see something affordable that had that “pop” to catch my eye. I knew that when I returned home I was going to have to work to shed some pounds (extra ones put on by the cruise plus what I needed to loose before I pigged out for a week) and I thought this would be a neat tool to help with that. So, I bought it on our second to last day on the boat.
So far it’s been a pretty cool tool watch. It has a strap that goes around your chest to track your heart rate and then transmit that data to the watch. You first set your heartrate for four “zones” by doing a 15 minute set of exercises, then enter your age, height and weight and you’re set to go. The watch will track the total time of your workout and capture your heartrate and show you how much time you have spent in each zone. It also totals your calories burned during your exercise. So far I’ve lost 6lbs in 3 weeks while working out with this watch. Not that the watch is the secret to loosing weight, I’m sure running 3 miles a day 6 days a week has something to do with that.
