| The Story Behind This Watch |
A blue watch! I have a blue watch now, cool. Anyway, this one was one that I have enjoyed viewing on-line for some time. Actually, I first saw the Oris XXL Worldtimer which is 40mm while this one is 37.5mm. But, I prefer the hands on the Classic Modern over the XXL. So, when I had some funds and saw this one was available, I jumped on it.
It’s a slick feature, the dual time zones. The buttons at 8 and 4 advance the main hour hand back or forwards in one hour increments, allowing one to track “home time” on the subdial at 3. There is also a day/night indicator for home time, in the event you travel more than a couple hours away. This is the watch that I have always wanted when traveling as it is so, so easy to adjust.
In all honesty, though, it does feel a bit on the small side. It still looks good on me, but I think some day I will end up trading up to the XXL. But, for now I have a) the perfect traveling watch and b) a blue watch!
