| The Story Behind This Watch |
Oh my how a watch grows on you. When I first saw this piece several months ago I did not care for it at all. The hour hand was yuck and it was way too small. Well, since I have recently discovered that I prefer watches under 42mm (with exceptions, of course) and that the hour hand on this one was actually kind of cool, that was all she wrote. I began selling off some of the watches that I did not wear or knew I was not going to get around to fixing to fund this piece. I had to do a bit of leg work to find one, and when I did I ended up a bit unhappy with the transaction. The seller originally charged me $475 – fine, since I was expecting a DNM (Damn Near Mint) watch with the box and papers. What I got was a far from Near Mint watch and no box or papers. The bracelet was quite scratched from wear and the bezel had some light scratches as well. Quite a bit more than I expected since the seller stated he wore it only twice. After I expressed my dissatisfaction, the seller did refund me $50 bringing the price closer to where I felt it should be.
Update, Feb. 28, 2007: I’ll probably catch some flack for selling this one, from someone. It was one of those things where I just was not wearing the watch, and I hate to just have watches sit in the box not getting worn. So, as per my theory of the Revolving Door Watch Collection, if I am not wearing it, it is time to get it on the wrist of someone who will. Hence, it was sold.
